FAQs

Why you should use a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)?

RCIC’s have to meet rigorous criteria and are regulated by the ICCRC (Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) on an ongoing basis.

The council was created by the Canadian government to protect those who wish to obtain services from Canadian immigration consultants. As an RCIC, it is our responsibility to follow the code of conduct set forth by the federal mandate, IRPA (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).

This requires anyone who is receiving fees or other considerations for their services as immigration and citizenship counselors, to remain in good standing to maintain their ICCRC membership. The only exceptions are members who are in good standing of a law society in Canada or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.

Abiding by this code of conduct not only builds trust with our clients but enables us to stay knowledgeable of the ever-changing legislation.

Do you offer free assessments or initial consultations?

No, SIV Consulting Inc. charges an Initial Consulting Fee.

Here’s why:

By making your initial consultation fee, you are automatically protected as our client and we will stand behind the advice we provide to you. Once you become our client, we are required by law to retain your records for a minimum of six years. This way, there can never be a doubt that we have given you comprehensive initial legal advice in an official capacity.

Although this fee does not mean we have entered into a formal agreement wherein a retainer agreement has been signed, we will keep a record of the initial advice we have provided to you and will stand by it.

You can put your trust and faith in the fact that we are RCIC and as such, any fees we obtain from our clients are deposited into our client account. Our client account is subject to an independent audit by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).

Our policy has always been to charge for an initial consultation because we pride ourselves on our expert legal advice and policies. Our expertise and quality of service is the reason clients seek us out. We are the best at what we do. We are honest and forthright and will never mislead you or encourage you to proceed with an application if we know you will have a negative outcome.

Payment of the Initial Consultation Fee can be made by Cash, Credit Card, or directly into our Client Account. The details of our account can be provided upon request.

How much does your service cost?

Cost is dependent upon your needs and eligibility. Every situation demands different levels of dedicated hours of work. Please book an Initial Consultation with our experienced Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and we will provide you a detailed fixed-price quote for our services.

Will my immigration or visa application be processed more quickly if I use your services?

Unfortunately, it will not. Any consultant or agent who tells you that they will fast-track your application is most likely being dishonest or may be involved in potentially fraudulent activities. The processing times of applications are set by IRCC. They are based on their guidelines. As long as your application is properly prepared, including all necessary documentation, there may still be few delays in processing the application. If problems do arise during the processing of the application, you can be sure that your matter is in expert hands.

Which immigration program or visa is right for me?

Immigration to Canada is complex and highly competitive. You will need a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant to understand your individual circumstances and to conduct detailed research specific to your case. We’ll provide specific, clear, and honest advice on the immigration program or visa that is right for you. For complete information, please book an Initial Consultation.
